in 'Rockrgrls' (US indie magazine):

"Tennyson and Neruda; melancholy, strength and joy - Caroline Trettine's new CD has it all and makes it work.Trettine wrote her first song at the age of five and has kept on going. Her voice is beautiful and confident. In 'Sous le Pont Mirabeau', she sings in French and succeeds in bringing a poem by Guillaume Apollinaire to life. On 'Tears Idle Tears'. she combines her own original music and lyrics with the words of Lord Alfred Tennyson. allowing the listener to relive their own last 'ten light years'." (Krista Cossalter-Sandberg).

in 'Dirty Linen' (classic US acoustic music magazine):

"She's being compared with Sandy Denny - what British acoustic-based singer doesn't get this comparison? - but Caroline Trettine has a voice that's worthy of the comparison. It's a brooding, breathy alto that also brings thoughts of Irish singer Susan McKeown." (Pamela Murray Winters).
